Join our newly formed development team at the forefront of pioneering technologies! We design high-end line scan cameras for demanding logistics automation applications and seek passionate, innovative experts to help set new standards in image quality, barcode reading, speed, and reliability. As part of our dedicated interdisciplinary team, you'll contribute your embedded development expertise to strengthen our market leadership and actively shape the future of industrial image processing at SICK.
Your tasks:
• Implement OS components on embedded Linux devices (driver development and integration, custom device tree, partition layout, OS build)
• Implement OpenEmbedded build system (Yocto Project) for silicon-specific capabilities
• Develop and maintain custom BSPs for a wide range of hardware (x86, ARM64)
• Analyze and optimize the use of embedded system resources
• Support hardware engineers in the definition and implementation of test procedures to check the functionality and stability of devices
• Document and work with version control systems (Git)
• Work on the development of the whole device concept within multidisciplinary team
• Cross-unit and cross-system collaboration with other agile development teams
Your profile:
• University degree in electrical engineering, computer science, information technology or similar
• Experience in the development of Linux based embedded devices
• Experience with cross compiling of kernel, bootloader and required toolchains
• Experience in at least one of the following: Golang, C, C++, bash or some other scripting language
• Knowledge of Git version control system
• Familiarity with hardware communication interfaces (UART, I2C, SPI)
• Linux Kernel and/or driver certifications from the Linux Foundation are a plus
• Fluency in English
• Proneness to teamwork, strong organizational and problem-solving skills
• High curiosity, flexibility, and accountability
